EVERY MEMBER A MISSIONARY
ACTS 1:8, MATTHEW 28:18-20
The high calling of each believer is to be a missionary. What does that involve? Jesus explains that in His commission to each believer. He says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). To do this and indeed be” on mission” with the Lord means that you will sacrifice some time, pleasure, and even possessions to meet the needs of others. When we don’t personally and actively participate in missions sharing Jesus Christ, we shut doors, we shut our minds, and even shut our Bibles to those who need them the most.
