Welcome to Crossroads!

Welcome to Crossroads!

SAFE. SIMPLE. HOME.

Pastor Rob MullinsThese three words best characterize our church. We are a community of families, singles, students… “running to the heart of Jesus together.”

We exist to be  a “refuge, a safe haven, and a launching pad” from our little corner of the Lord’s Unstoppable Church in East Shelby County. We are Bible-based, relationship-driven, and deeply missions-minded. Our hearts are committed to reach our neighbors and the nations with the love of Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 6:16: “…stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it and you shall find rest for your souls…”

To God Be the Glory,

Rob Mullins
Pastor, Crossroads Baptist Church

Crossroads is a dynamic congregation, with people from all over the Memphis area who have come together for a common purpose—to study God’s Word,  worship Him, do His work, and reach the world with the Gospel message.

Crossroads Baptist Church is both a safe haven in which to be nurtured and to grow and a launching pad to reach the world with the gospel. It is a simple church. You and your family can worship and grow together through the in-depth study of God’s Word and fellowship with other believers in order to become the person that God intended you to be, fulfilling His desire for your life.

ABOUT WHO WE ARE

Our Purpose

Crossroads Baptist Church exists to exalt the Lord Jesus, to encourage and equip people to become fully committed followers of Him and to extend His love and compassion to our community, our country, and the world that they may come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our theme and goal is to have a God-Focused, Spirit-Led, Christ-Honoring Simple Church with intentionality in our pursuits and love as our goal for one another and the lost.

“This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask for where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Jeremiah 6:16

We wanted to search for the ancient paths though it is clear that the people of Israel did not. The ancient path is how God intends for us to walk. It is not the old or old-fashioned path, but the path that God has handed down through the ages.

Our Passion

“To Know Him and to Make Him Known.”

Isaiah 26:8 best describes the longing of our hearts. This verse as well has served guidance in all of our pursuits.

“Yes Lord, walking in the way of Your truth, we wait eagerly for You. For your name and Your renown is the desire of our souls.” – Isaiah 26:8

“Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matt. 28: 19-20

“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” Phil 3:10 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Phil. 1:21

Our Plan

The Biblical mandate is to fulfill our purpose and passion by encouraging and equipping believers to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to lead others to do so as well.

This is accomplished through what we call the “5 Essentials“. These essentials are:

  • Worship

  • Bible Study

  • Inreach/Outreach

  • Discipleship

  • Fellowship

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

What can I expect when I visit?

You can expect to find a welcoming, inclusive group of people who are glad that you have come to worship with us. We worship in our sanctuary as a family–meaning children, youth, parents, grandparents and great grandparents all together as one. Our continued growth has required us to begin construction of a balcony, which will enable our church family to continue to worship together in one service.

Would I be welcome at your church?

Absolutely, you would be welcome! And we believe this is what sets Crossroads apart from anywhere else you may visit. We are intentional in our relationships and engagement of one another. You should notice this on your very first visit and every time you are at here!

Are youth and children welcome?

Yes! Youth and children are an integral part of our church family and the health of our church. We don’t just believe the children and youth are the future of our church, they are our church right now! They play an active role in each week’s service and are vital to DNA we call Crossroads.

Do I have to know what I believe before I attend?

All we could ever ask is that you have an open heart to hear the inerrant truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a Southern Baptist Convention church which is where we fully adopt our Statement of Faith. Additional information is also found throughout this website as well.

What kind of worship services do you have?

Our worship service is a blend of traditional hymns, contemporary hymns and choruses, prayers and preaching, accompanied with a full choir and orchestra.

How should I dress for a Sunday Service?

While many of our people attend church dressed in traditional attire (coat, tie, etc.), many of our members and visitors dress casual and modest attire (sport shirts, jeans, etc.).

Is there child care?

During the Worship service we provide childcare for Birth through 4-year old’s. For children older than 4, we worship as a family and are very understanding and accepting of the dynamics of children in the worship service. We believe that families worshiping together is at the core of true worship.

How can I find out more about membership?

Please feel free to call the church offices during our regular office hours at 901-309-7777. Any of our ministers would love to answer any questions you may have about membership and Crossroads. You may also email us at [email protected]. You can ask a question or simply let us know how you would like to be contacted.
