Get to know crossroads baptist church
We truly want to be a community of families, singles, and students “running to the heart of Jesus together.”
Since we launched in March of 2009, the Lord has shown us great favor. We are humbled, blessed and grateful. We want to be a “refuge, a safe haven and a launching pad” from our little corner of the Lord’s Unstoppable Church in East Shelby County. We are Bible-based, relationship-driven and deeply missions-minded. Our hearts are committed to reach our neighbors and the nations with the love of Jesus Christ.
Crossroads Baptist Church exists to exalt the Lord Jesus, to encourage and equip people to become fully committed followers of Him and to extend His love and compassion to our community, our country, and the world that they may come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our theme and goal is to have a God-Focused, Spirit-Led, Christ-Honoring Simple Church with intentionality in our pursuits and love as our goal for one another and the lost.
“This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask for where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Jeremiah 6:16
We wanted to search for the ancient paths though it is clear that the people of Israel did not. The ancient path is how God intends for us to walk. It is not the old or old-fashioned path, but the path that God has handed down through the ages.
“To Know Him and to Make Him Known.”
Isaiah 26:8 best describes the longing of our hearts. This verse as well has served guidance in all of our pursuits.
“Yes Lord, walking in the way of Your truth, we wait eagerly for You. For your name and Your renown is the desire of our souls.” – Isaiah 26:8
“Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matt. 28: 19-20
“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” Phil 3:10 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Phil. 1:21
The Biblical mandate is to fulfill our purpose and passion by encouraging and equipping believers to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to lead others to do so as well.
This is accomplished through what we call the “5 Essentials“. These essentials are:
-
Worship
-
Bible Study
-
Inreach/Outreach
-
Discipleship
-
