This Week at Crossroads: October 28 – November 3

 THIS WEEK AT CROSSROADS

THANK YOU!

A huge thank you to all those who were able to help with the Fall Family Festival!  What an incredible day! Thank you for donating large amounts of candy, baking cakes, hosting games, passing out candy, hosting a trunk, cooking hot dogs, passing out waters, helping with set-up and tear down, and being that smiling face welcoming folks. I especially hope you also had a great time serving with one another.  As one of the largest church- wide fellowships and community outreaches we do each year, we always see visitors follow up with a visit to our church in the following weeks.  Be on the lookout for them!

Again, thank you for another incredible Fall Family Festival, we could not do it without each of you!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX MINISTRY!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to share the joy of Christmas with a child in need! Pick up and fill a “shoe” box! Boxes and instructions are available in the Narthex. If possible, we ask that you also include $9 to cover shipping. Please fill your box(es) and bring them back to the church before Wednesday, November 14. If you prefer to donate items rather than filling a box, we will accept loose items that can fit inside of a shoebox. If you’d like to make a donation to help cover the cost of shipping the boxes, you can make a donation to the church and designate Operation Shoebox on your envelope.

FAMILY WEDNESDAYS

This week dinner will be catered by Corky’s BBQ with pulled pork, chicken, and all the “fixin’s.” Adults: $5, Children: $3. Dinner begins at 4:45 PM, with Awana, Youth, Twenties Bible Study, Adult Bible studies, and Prayer Meeting beginning at 6:00 PM. Adult Choir practice begins at 7:00 PM.

AWANA SCHEDULE

CHURCH WIDE EVENTS

Church Tithing and New 2019 Tax Laws.

There are new tax laws that could affect how you give and have an impact on your personal tax situation. We will have a brief opportunity following the service on Sunday, November 4, for you to hear important questions you may need to consider or ask your tax advisor. These new laws could affect how you give this next year to Crossroads or any non-profit organization.  Everyone’s situation is different. These questions and their answers could help you effectively give more and even reduce your tax obligation at the same time. This meeting is designed to help you become more efficient in your giving. There will also be some discussion on little known Social Security decisions for those that have not made those decisions yet, as well as some that may influence your current choices. We won’t have specific answers, but will equip you to wisely ask questions and research your options before next year.
