This Week at Crossroads: October 21- October 27

The annual Fall Family Festival will be held next Saturday, October 27 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. There will be free hotdogs, Lickety Split ice cream, games, inflatables, a petting zoo, a train, “Trunk ‘r Treat” and more!

Invite your friends and neighbors to join us for this time of fun and fellowship. Free ice cream for visitors!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to share the joy of Christmas with a child in need! Pick up and fill a “shoe” box! Boxes and instructions are available in the Narthex. If possible, we ask that you also include $9 to cover shipping. Please fill your box(es) and bring them back to the church before Wednesday, November 14. If you prefer to donate items rather than filling a box, we will accept loose items that can fit inside of a shoebox. If you’d like to make a donation to help cover the cost of shipping the boxes, you can make a donation to the church and designate Operation Shoebox on your envelope.

This week, dinner will be catered by Jason’s Deli. The meal includes penne pasta, pasta sauce (tomato-basil or creamy Alfredo), grilled chicken breast, fresh salad, herb focaccia bread, and dessert. Cost: Adults: $5, Children: $3. Dinner begins at 4:45 PM, with Awana, Youth, Twenties Bible Study, Adult Bible studies, and Prayer Meeting beginning at 6:00 PM. Adult Choir practice begins at 7:00 PM.

The 2017 Fall Awana Program continues Wednesday at 6:00 PM. This week will be Crazy hair Night and the night to begin bringing Operation Christmas Child items.

Church Tithing and New 2019 Tax Laws. New tax laws in place for next year could affect how you tithe and impact your personal tax situation, especially if you are giving through retirement savings and investments. We will provide a brief opportunity following the service on Sunday, November 4, in the AWANA Room for you to hear important questions you may need to consider (or ask your tax advisor) as you give next year to Crossroads or any non-profit organization. Everyone’s situation is different, and these questions and their answers could help you effectively give more and even reduce your tax obligation at the same time. We won’t have specific answers, but will equip you to wisely ask questions and research your options before this next year.
