 THIS WEEK AT CROSSROADS

CROSSROADS TO THE HOLY LAND INFO MEETING

We are excited about partnering with Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in a thrilling journey to Israel, June 27-July 4, 2019. There is still time to sign up. On Sunday, January 13 at 4:00 in the Awana Room, we will have a follow-up informational meeting. If you have already registered or if you are interested in hearing more about our trip, you won’t want to miss our special guest from Israel, Moshe Gabay. Moshe is the Director of Keshet Journeys in Jerusalem. He is a professional licensed tour guide and has been working in tourism since finishing his compulsory army duty with the Israeli military. Moshe is a born again believer in Jesus and his mission is to bring people closer to Him by showing them the Land of Israel. MEMPHIS UNION MISSION

Join us at the Memphis Union Mission, 383 Poplar, Thursday, January 17, as we serve the many homeless men who will be there that night. We’ll provide a meal and a chapel service. If you can help us serve food, please arrive by 4:45 PM. If you can join us for the chapel service, please arrive by 6:00 PM. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity!

NEW SUNDAY SCHEDULE

Early Service Begins. Balcony construction will necessitate the removal of pews in the work area reducing sanctuary seating capacity by 200. To provide enough seating, a second service will be added at 8:00 AM until construction is complete. There will NOT be a nursery or childcare available during this service, so we are encouraging those without young children to attend this service.

New Sunday School Time. During the balcony construction, Sunday School will meet from 9:30 -10:15 AM.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS

A new ministry, Circle of Friends, beginning in January 2019 will honor widows and single ladies (age 50 and older) during their birth month with a luncheon. If you are interested in serving as a hostess or co-hostess, please call Ann Baumgartner at 901-853-4861.

FILL A “BOTTLE FOR LIFE”

“Bottles for Life” is a special project sponsored by Life Choices of Memphis. Your donation will help women who find themselves in the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy by providing testing and parenting classes, as well as post-abortive counseling free of charge. Life Choices is also a licensed adoption agency and receives no federal funding. Fill a bottle with spare change, cash, or a check (make payable to Life Choices), and return it to the Narthex on or before January 27th. Bottles will available in the Narthex beginning January 6.

STAND FOR LIFE RALLY

The 43rd Stand for Life Rally is Sunday, January 20, 2019, 1:30 PM at the Madonna Learning Center, 7007 Poplar Avenue, (Germantown). Sponsored by the Shelby County Chapter, Tennessee Right to Life, the rally marks the 46th anniversary of the US Supreme Court’s infamous Roe decision. FROM THE DAWKINS

Dear Crossroads Family,

What a joy it has been to be “home” with you. We know, when we are overseas, that you pray for us and it blesses us. But when we get to sit beside you in worship or give you a hug in the hallway, we feel even more grateful for those prayers.

You have loved us well during our stateside. From offers to babysit, to including us in conversations, to making us feel a part of your fellowship class and inviting us out to eat – you have gone the extra mile to show that you are more than prayer partners. You are a family to us. Thank you. We hope to see some of you in Barcelona soon!

With love,  David and Laura Dawkins
